March and April were very exciting times at Newenham with a plethora of ‘firsts’ officially being announced.
These major project development milestones included completion of the first stage of construction, first land titles being created and the construction commencement of the first two homes in our Botanic Release. With titles being created comes our first settlements, which means that many Newenham residents are busy making plans to start building their new homes.
Our inaugural community events were held on site, starting with a meet and greet for our residents where they enjoyed local food and drinks as they eagerly discussed plans for their upcoming houses with their future neighbours.
Local business leaders were invited to our official launch event, where Mount Barker Mayor Ann Ferguson formally opened the project as she stated how excited she was to be part of such a unique development.
“As I have looked over this property and meandered up those tracks, I realise the uniqueness of this property is something to be envied…Why wouldn’t you want to come and live in Mount Barker?” said Mayor Ferguson.
“It is such a privilege to be here at this point in time, in this part of history and I am so proud of Kym and Olivia and the team.”
After many months of hard work and dedication, it was a night of celebrations.
We also hosted Porchland, an annual folk music festival run by Adelaide’s Porch Sessions. Featuring music from talented Aussie acts, local foods and drinks, a vibrant range of market stalls, and the prettiest backdrop we ever did see. It turned out to be a wonderful day where guests enjoyed themselves and danced into the early evening.
And we were very proud to hold the very first wedding at Newenham of Burke Urban’s loved-up Sales & Marketing Director, Olivia Burke and her husband Steve.
With all this happening in just two short months, we are oh so excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for Newenham. The weather may be cooling down, but Newenham will continue to be a hive of activity throughout Winter.
