High school sweethearts Hannah and Tyson’s love affair with the Adelaide Hills, and Mount Barker in particular, is set to continue with a new home at Newenham with plenty of open spaces that reminds them both of their country origins.

Being both from river towns, Hannah and Tyson knew their new home had to have a big country feel with a large block and plenty of room for their young family to grow and play.

“We are both from country towns in South Australia. I grew up in Mannum, and Tyson in Murray Bridge,” says Hannah.

Having met in school, the young couple still has close ties to the country and love spending time with our families and friends.

“We met in high school and have been together ever since. We married in March 2018 on the riverfront just outside of Mannum and now have a beautiful five-month-old son Hudson and our gorgeous cat Billie” says Hannah.

As if it was planned, the couple’s new home in Newenham is in the perfect location to allow for short commutes to each of their workplaces.

“I am an engineer, and Hannah is an Occupational Therapist. I work in the city while Hannah works in Murray Bridge,” says Tyson.

While having lived in Mount Barker for the past four years, the couple felt that the country atmosphere was missing. After looking around for months for the perfect block, it was a conversation with an Aunt that prompted Hannah and Tyson to take a look at Newenham.

“We were struggling to find a block and location that suited our needs. We absolutely fell in love with the Newenham because of the country feel and environment,” says Hannah.

Once the decision was made, other factors convinced the young couple that this was the right move for them.

“We love the friendly community and love that every time we go walking, there is always someone to chat with. We love all the people that we have already connected with,” says Hannah.

Being a part of a community is very important to this young couple. Hailing from small country towns, they both felt that aspect was missing until they moved into Newenham.

“We are very excited for our son to be able to connect with the other wonderful children in the estate. We also love the large blocks as we want plenty of space for our family to grow,” Tyson explains.

Now settled into their beautiful family home, Hannah and Tyson reflect on other influences that made moving to Newenham an easy decision.

“We love the walking tracks, the future shops and farm, and that the area is really great for young families. We can now take advantage of the linear park, the wonderful community, making new friends, exploring the natural environment, the local events, the new cafe and farm, and the easy connection to Mount Barker,” explains Tyson.

Space was always a big ‘must-have’ on Hannah and Tyson’s wish list, and Newenham ticked all the boxes. The couple has built with award-winning builder Hickinbotham Homes.

“We wanted to create a Country Hamptons style home for our first house,” says Hannah.

The large home features four bedrooms, two bathrooms and an extra lounge room, plus lots of space for young Hudson to play.

“We love our big, beautiful kitchen, the outdoor area and plenty of storage (always need more storage),” says Tyson.

Newenham is obviously agreeing with the young family as they embrace all the great things about hills living.

“We love the lifestyle, the beautiful trees and the wonderful landscaping around the hills. We also love all the walking tracks,” enthuses Hannah.

Outside of Mount Barker, the couple has some special places a short distance away in the Adelaide Hills where they can relax with family and friends.

“We both love spending time at a few of our favourite places like Lot 100, Bird in Hand, and the Pallet Cafe in Nairne,” says Tyson.

Large blocks, open spaces with beautiful established trees, innovative amenities, a community of like-minded friendly people, plus all the conveniences of urban living. As Hannah and Tyson can attest, Newenham is perfect solution for those looking for a hills location with plenty of space and a distinct country feel.
