Newenham is excited to announce our very first community Garage Sale!
On Sunday May 16, from 9am-4pm, eleven homes in the Newenham neighbourhood will be taking part in a Community Garage Sale, with residents selling treasures they no longer need.
Newenham is a tight-knit community in the heart of the Adelaide Hills and only half an hour away from Adelaide. Newenham residents, Lyndel and Anne-Marie, have organised the Community Garage Sale said this is just one of the events that helps to bring the Newenham community closer together.
“The community at Newenham is amazing and has become very close and supportive, particularly over the last 12 months or so during Covid. We regularly share our excess plants, produce, garden and building ideas,” explains Lyndel.
“Newenham has helped create the environment for us and has introduced us to all our neighbours through a range of events and get-togethers, which has allowed the people who live here to create a tight-knit and welcoming community.”
“We have 11 homes taking part in the sale and some neighbours sharing their garages with neighbours who may not have enough to host their own. We even have some new land owners who haven’t started to build their home yet joining with existing neighbours so they can be a part of it too – now that’s neighbourhood spirit and one we all love being a part of,” she concluded.
Mud maps will be available on the day to highlight each home taking part, as well as Newenham balloons being tied to the front of the homes to make sure buyers can easily identify the homes with treasures to sell.
You know what they say! Someone else’s trash is another person’s treasure! So come along and join in the fun of our first community garage sale – it’s a perfect way to spend some time on Sunday with the family and you never know, you may just find the bargain you’ve been looking for.
Any items not sold by the end of the day will be given to local Adelaide Hill’s charities.
