We are excited to announce that construction has begun on the new Kings’ Baptist Grammar School at Newenham with the ‘turning of the soil’ on Wednesday, 28 April 2021 signifying the next step in the school’s development.
As part of the Newenham Masterplan, Kings Baptist Grammar School secured five hectares of land on Bollen Road in 2018 to build a state-of-the-art facility to offer quality private education to residents of Mount Barker and the surrounding Adelaide Hills community.
Principal Don Grimmett said “Our brand-new facilities will be home to world-class teaching and learning opportunities. Our vision of faith provides excellence in education that empowers individuals in partnership with families, and we are excited to build relationships with families in the Adelaide Hills community”.
At capacity, the Adelaide Hills Campus will cater for up to 1,200 students, with the ELC to Year 2 classrooms to open first in 2023, followed by additional year levels each year thereafter. The Middle School is set to commence in 2027 and the Senior School in 2031, with the first graduating class in 2033.
Burke Urban’s Managing Director, Kym Burke said the school would provide more choice for parents when assessing education options in the fast-growing area. “We are excited that our Newenham residents will have access to quality independent education just moments from their own home, and will be able to travel to the campus on foot or bike by a beautiful linear park trail along Western Flat Creek”.
Emphasising respect, responsibility and community development, King’s Baptist Grammar School will open in 2023 with ELC to Year 2 classes and will offer a range of facilities including a student learning hub, multiple play spaces, a student diversity facility, a library, out of school hours care (OSHC), and a ‘patch to plate’ garden to inspire healthy eating.
King’s Baptist Grammar School Principal, Don Grimmett, continued, “We are thrilled to open our second campus to serve the Adelaide Hills community at Newenham. Our expression of interest list has been growing and we look forward to opening up enrolments shortly” Grimmett said.
