We are thrilled to announce that our Sales Consultant, Ben Walker, has accepted a position at Burke Urban as a Project Officer. As an important contributor to the success of Newenham so far, we couldn’t be happier to welcome Ben into his new role.
As a proud Adelaide Hills resident, Ben is extremely excited to progress his career at Newenham, and is eager to develop project management skills as part of this position.
“I really enjoy how things are made and being part of that process and I enjoy problem-solving. This role combines personal contact with people, but it is also about delivering results on the ground,” said Ben.
Ben is also keen to learn more about how Burke Urban goes about creating great relationships and outstanding communities. He’s eager to work with those individuals and companies who collaborate with Burke Urban including councils, government, and the wide range of civil contractors, who are collectively making Newenham the benchmark project in the Adelaide Hills.
“There’s a lot to learn from how Burke Urban operate, which can be seen by the projects they have delivered previously such as Waterford Estate in Mount Barker, Linear Park in Athelstone and Ascot Waters in Perth.” Ben said.
Rest assured, Ben will still be largely involved with all current and future residents, and is committed to continuing to grow relationships within the ever-increasing community at Newenham.
“If there are any issues on site, the residents can chat to me – I am keen to ensure that my role as Project Officer has a personal touch to it, including elements of a community officer role too. But, the main function will be aiding civil construction from the planning stages, right through to roads, curbs and street lights,” said Ben.
With Ben taking on this new position, the role of Sales Consultant opened up. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Ben and the whole Sexton Glover Watts team for helping launch Newenham over the past two and a half years. We have greatly valued their local knowledge and their commitment to helping build the Newenham community to what it is today. We will continue to share a common interest in the growth and betterment of the beautiful Mount Barker and Adelaide Hills regions.
One end always marks a new beginning and so we are thrilled to welcome back Justine Thomson to the Newenham team. Justine was a vital part of the initial launch of Newenham and helped establish the sales and information centre in 2016.
While Justine was a driving force in the initial sales team for Newenham, she always had dreams of starting her own business, so she left us in 2017 to set up her own company, SA Listings, which has been awarded as the Sales Agency for Newenham.
Justine brings a wealth of knowledge from property development sales with a leading national development company. She has a passion and history in selling and supporting new residential communities, so we are extremely happy to have her back on board.
“I was out there selling the land before roads had even been cut!” said Justine about her time at Newenham in 2016.
“Those that bought into the project then could see from the vision Burke Urban had created, what kind of community they’d be living in. Now, to see those clients building their homes is just great and I can’t wait to be involved again in the project.”
“Before, people would have to imagine that vision from me describing it, and now they can physically see it coming to life – and Burke Urban are really delivering what they promised.”
Although Justine’s official role is Land Agent, she wants everyone to know that she will always have the resident’s best interests at heart. She’ll be there to help everyone through their journeys, every step of the way.
“I see myself in more of an advisor role – in helping people meet their needs and wants, helping them achieve their dream.”
So what is Justine most excited about now that she’s back with the team at Newenham?
“Meeting the residents that have moved in, getting their stories and feedback, and helping prospective purchasers consider buying land in Newenham. The most exciting part is seeing the community grow.”
And what does she loves most about Newenham and the Adelaide Hills?
“I love the trees, the vegetation, the proximity to Mount Barker and the freedom of space – but yet, you’re literally only 30 minutes from the city on the freeway.”
“It’s great if you decide you want that combination of both, but also, Mount Barker’s town centre has a lot to offer. I call it a satellite city in itself – it’s like a big country town, everyone gets to know each other and you’ve got all the services you need right there in town.”
The team at Burke Urban will work closely alongside Justine’s team from SA Listings, including her colleague and Sales Consultant Marie Sanders who will work from the Newenham Sales Centre five days a week with Justine working the other two days.
The Burke Urban project team, including project management, marketing and design management, remains unchanged. We continue to be committed to working with the sales team and all residents to achieve outstanding results for our growing community.
