With our motto being ‘relax and unwind’, our Feel Good Friday Summer Series twilight sessions are a great way to celebrate the start of a weekend. You can enjoy great local food and drinks while listening to music, surrounded by the natural beauty of Newenham in this beautiful pocket of the Adelaide Hills. There’s also plenty of things to keep the kids entertained too and loads of open space to roam and explore.
Our first of three Summer Series Feel Good Fridays sessions was wonderful, going off with a bang with great live local entertainment and a fantastic atmosphere. The weather was perfect – a balmy Summer’s night – the perfect opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy the sun’s rays with friends and family.
Megan Collins, who is organising the sessions, couldn’t have been more pleased with the event, and is even more impressed by how the local community has embraced this event to come together and relax at the end of a busy week. “The venue is beautiful and promotes a great sense of community,” she says. “I think the rustic barn and old farmhouse add character to the beautifully landscaped gardens and surrounding setting. It is the perfect place to hold these free community events.”
Megan describes the event as “Family friendly, care-free, and a great place to relax and unwind in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.”
“There’s plenty of room for children to run around while the adults sit back and relax, eat local food and taste local wines and beers.”
Wendy Vanderkamp of Wendy Jane’s Kitchen, a popular food vender of the event, is in total agreeance with Megan: “I loved being involved with the event as it has a terrific vibe. The people were all friendly and happy to relax and chill as a community group.”
Wendy, who is passionate about making delicious healthy food and sharing it with others, makes vegan, vegetarian and gluten free meals that are a hit with Feel Good Friday’s attendees. She loves being a part of the event and couldn’t praise it enough.
“The atmosphere was very light and joyous. The sounds of children playing and people sitting together under the trees was stunning and to top it off the live music was amazing… People can expect friendly and happy people willing to take the time to connect and serve beautiful, fresh and unique food and beverages.”
So, who should come along to a Feel Good Fridays session? … Everyone! Megan believes it is great for those young and old, for family and friends, the local community and even city dwellers. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy this gorgeous pocket of the Adelaide Hills where you can, relax and unwind, listen to chilled live music, support local businesses and make new friends. Wendy agrees, and says, “It is a place to make and keep connections with the local community, friends, family and neighbours.”
Megan’s highlight from the first 2019 event was “Sofie Bozzetti, the musician – plus the beautiful atmosphere of Newenham. I enjoyed a bowl of Paella, and a glass of wine while talking with friends as the children played on the grass…. it was a win/win for everyone!”
Wendy’s highlight: “Witnessing the Newenham Crew at work as a terrific team and to the meet the family behind this incredible project.”
