We are excited to announce that King’s Baptist Grammar School is building a new school at Newenham!

After purchasing five hectares of land on Bollen Road in Newenham, King’s Baptist Grammar School will build a second campus to cater to every year level, from ELC to all the way through to Year 12.

For our mum and dad residents, having a faith-based school right on the doorstep of their dream home will only add to the community spirit and wellbeing philosophy that’s already all around you in Newenham. More importantly, it adds choice and diversity for parents when choosing education in the Mount Barker area.

“We are excited that our Newenham residents will have access to a quality private education just moments from their own home and accessed by a beautiful Linear Park Trail and along Western Flat Creek,” said Kym Burke, Managing Director of Burke Urban.

The Mount Barker District Council is very supportive and said, “The Mount Barker population is growing and a new school will help satisfy demand for new educational facilities in the Mount Barker area. A new school has been a key element of the Mount Barker Western Precinct Structure Plan and this planning can now become a reality.”

The $38 million school will be located right next to the Active Recreation Reserve at Newenham and the Mount Barker Linear Trail. This trail will be extended through Newenham to allow students and the community to make their trip to school a bit more scenic. A pleasant 12km round-trip cycling and walking trail will take the adventurous and health-conscious on a picturesque route through Keith Stephenson Park, Mount Barker and on to the Laratinga Wetlands.

The Principal of King’s Baptist Grammar School Principal said that they are just as thrilled as Newenham to be opening their second campus to serve the Adelaide Hills community.

“As a school we have grown to have a strong reputation for academic excellence, performing arts, and sporting achievements since establishing our Wynn Vale campus in 1983. We have joined with Mount Barker Baptist Church to now offer another campus and to give families in the Adelaide Hills the same learning opportunities.”

King’s Baptist Grammar School plans to open in 2023, beginning with ELC to Year 2 classes and will continue to add year levels over a ten-year period. At full capacity, the school will cater for approximately 1200 students from ELC right through to Year 12.

We’re delighted at this new development, and we can’t wait to see how incredible the school is in our neighbourhood!
