We’ve got cycling fever here at Newenham as we look forward to South Australia’s largest bike race to come past our Adelaide Hills development in the January.
That’s right, the 2018 Santos Tour Down Under will be riding past Newenham during the second stage of the race and we cannot contain our excitement.
Starting from King William Road, Unley, the peloton of cyclists will be travelling over 148km on Wednesday 17 January 2018 as they make their way through the Adelaide Hills and past Newenham on Flaxley Road, Mount Barker. They will end the day on Mount Barker Road in Stirling.
This news comes as we celebrate a successful sponsorship of the Adelaide Hills Masters Cycling Club.
With a focus on improving health and wellbeing through competitive cycling and road racing events, the Adelaide Hills Master Cycling Club invites female cyclists over 30 years and male cyclists over 35 years to become members.
Newenham have proudly supported the AHMCC throughout 2017, including a three race series in early July and September, which saw cyclists of all levels ride through the hilly terrain of various parts of the Adelaide Hills.
If you’re looking for a community club to be a part of – and one that looks after your health and wellbeing – take a look at their membership info here.
If you’re riding around Mount Barker, be sure to visit the Newenham Sales and Information Centre at 164 Flaxley Road, open 12 – 5pm daily, and discover why you’ll love living at Newenham.
